Sorry for missing you the last couple of days. Some good news, our friends over at Indivisible Midland have scheduled a meeting with Representative Conaway. The kicker is that Conaway is only willing to meet with four people, no press, and no public. So, we need to keep putting the pressure on him to have a town hall. When you call today, feel free to add in a request for a town hall.
Our big focus today is pushing Conaway to back the necessary investigation of the White House ties to Russia. Now, most of the GOP, including Conaway would like to ignore the chaos of the White House and just go forward with pushing their legislative agendas through (every one of them more terrible than the last). We can't let them get away with that, so while we continue to resist their dangerous agenda, we also need to push them to do the right thing.
Today, we're calling on Conaway (432-687-2390) to support a comprehensive investigation of Trump's ties to Russia, headed by an independent Special Prosecutor. Here is a suggested script:
"Hello, my name is __________. I am Representative Conaway's constituent. My zip code is ____________. I am calling to urge Representative Conaway to support an investigation of the White House's ties to Russia. As an America, I am deeply troubled by the mounting evidence of the White House's relationship with Russia, a hostile foreign power. Senator Cornyn has called for an investigation, and I hope that Representative Conaway will be sensible about this as well. There are too many warning signs, and I fear our national security is at stake, if it hasn't already been compromised. Thank you."
